1969年生まれ。関西生まれ関西育ちの典型的関西人。現在は東京都区内在住。
大学中退後、ライターとして歴史・ビジネス・健康法・自己啓発など幅広いジャンルで執筆活動を行なう。
パソコン歴は高校時代から。最初にさわったのはPC-8001。1996年ごろからインターネットを使い始める。
2003年秋に独立、「ことのは編集室」を立ち上げる。同時にウェブサイトを公開。
「絵文録（ウェブログ）ことのは」「はじめてのウェブログ」「土佐日記ブログ」「女子十二楽坊資料館」など、公開したサイトはいずれも大きな注目を集めた。日本のブログ大賞「Blog of the Yeah! 2003」でベストアーティクル部門第３位を受賞。
音楽はいろいろ聴いてきたが、特にアイリッシュ・トラッド（エンヤ含む）と中国伝統音楽、東欧国民楽派などが好みだったので、女子十二楽坊にはまったのも当然といえば当然といえる。
